Alaska Inside Passage Cruise

An Alaska Inside Passage Cruise is a great way to see the beauty and majesty of this still pristine wilderness.

I went there recently with a group and we all had an amazing time on ship and visiting the different ports.

Depending on the length of trip and ports of call you can see places such as Victoria BC, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Glacier Bay Alaska, Tracy Arm Fjord and more.

In Juneau you can see the amazing Mendenhall Glacier, go whale watching, hiking, biking, kayaking, zip lining, rafting and fishing.

Skagway is a sleepy little town where you can visit the shops, hike, take a ride on a horse drawn carriage and more.

In Ketchikan you can take a walking tour and see, Totem poles, Ketchikan Creek and the Falls and a salmon hatchery. One of the world’s largest collections of Totems is at Ketchikan. They are scattered all around town.

Not only is Glacier Bay beautiful, there is an abundance of marine and terrestrial wildlife, snow capped mountains and deep fjords. There are also fresh water rivers and lakes, ocean coastlines, tidewater glaciers and snow-capped mountains.

On a recent cruise to Alaska we had the privilege of seeing this beautiful area. One of the most breathtakingly beautiful sites I saw was a mountain top that poked through the clouds.

It reminded me of the famous Mt Everest peak in Tibet. See picture below.

The popular inexpensive cruise lines are: Princess Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity X Cruises, Holland American Line and more. Typical cruises last 7-10 nights or more. Departure ports are commonly San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, British Columbia and Anchorage, Alaska.

The Inside Passage is a coastal route that is a series of passages between the mainland and the coastal islands. It starts from the Puget Sound of the US in Washington and goes through the coastal British Columbia and Alaska Panhandle.

The passage provides protection from harsh seas. It is heavily traveled by cruise ships, fishing craft, freighters and more.
