I lived out in the LA area for several years. It was always enjoyable to visit the beaches. The beaches are a great way to spend a fun and relaxing day, catch some rays and people watch (which is always fun).

J Paul Getty Center
The J Paul Getty Center is famous for its architecture, gardens and views of Los Angeles. The J Paul Getty Museum in the Center has European paintings, drawings, sculptures, American and European photographs and more. The Center also has the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation, the Getty Research Institute and the J Paul Getty Trust.
Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in the world. It has over 4,000 acres. There are many great attractions such as the L.A. Zoo, the Griffith Observatory, pony rides, bicycle rentals, an Equestrian Center, Greek Theatre, the Griffith Park Merry-go-Round and more.

The Los Angeles Zoo
Located in Griffith Park is home to 1,100 animals form around the world. You can see the Dragons of Komodo, the Chimpanzees of Mahale Mountains, the Red Ape Rain forest, Winnick Family Children’s Zoo, Campo Gorilla Reserve and more. There is an Australia exhibit that has the Zoo’s koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas (spiny anteaters).
The Griffith Observatory
The Griffith Observatory is a national leader in public astronomy. It is one of Southern California’s most popular attracts. There are exhibits, public programs, school programs, free public star parties, teacher resources and more. Admissions to the Observatory building and grounds is free.
