The Denver Zoo
Zoos are always a lot of fun. The Denver Zoo was the first zoo in the US to use naturalistic zoo enclosures rather than cages with bars. There are 80 acres with over 4,000 animals including mammals, fish, amphibians, birds, invertebrates and more. There are Child and Family programs, School and Teacher Programs, Teen Programs and Adult Programs.

For beer lovers this guided 1.5 mile walking tour of downtown Denver’s historic LODO district can be great fun. You will visit several microbreweries while sampling and learning about many different brands of beer.
Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave
Buffalo Bill Cody was an amazing human being. He was born in 1846 and lived a life of adventure. He mined for gold, rode on the Pony Express, scouted for the army and was a buffalo hunter (where his hunting skills earned him the nickname: “Buffalo Bill”). Bill Cody is most noted for his Wild West shows that traveled the world imprinting a lasting vision of the American west on the world. At the museum there are Buffalo Bill Cody show outfits, and artifacts from the old west. The Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave is located only 16 miles west of Denver.
